This painting was also created during my son’s first year. I’m the entertaining and silly dad. Here, I appear again as clown -this time smiling. However, the eyes which are duplicate in their wrong sideways tilt portray different degrees of sadness and numbness. The clown wears an orange and red striped shirt and green gloves. The boy is also dressed as a clown in a furlined orange jacket and shirt and cerulean blue pants. The boy is portrayed as a puppet. Strings from the clown’s right hand pull on the boy’s hands which in turn pull on the clown’s left hand.
